About This Experience
About Chobe Wildlife Photography Safari
Discover the wildlife of Botswana's Chobe region through a photography-focused safari combining a guided game drive with a boat-based wildlife experience on the Chobe River. Photograph elephants gathering along the riverbanks, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, antelope, and a wide variety of birds while learning to make the most of changing light, animal behaviour, composition, and camera settings. A standard safari vehicle and boat can provide excellent photographic opportunities, while a specialist photographic vehicle or low-angle photography boat may be arranged on request, subject to availability and additional cost. Suitable for keen beginners and experienced wildlife photographers, this experience prioritises ethical wildlife viewing, patience, and responsible photography.

Itinerary
Your experience
1
Meet your guide at the confirmed pickup point in Kasane. Review the day's activities, camera equipment, safety rules, and photographic interests. Early starts are recommended to make use of softer light and wildlife activity.
2
Explore an authorised game-drive area in a safari vehicle with a local guide. Photograph wildlife and landscapes as conditions allow, with attention to animal behaviour, backgrounds, focus, shutter speed, and exposure. Routes and sightings depend on wildlife movements and park conditions.
3
Take a break between activities. Meals, refreshments, and access to facilities depend on the selected operator and the day's arrangements.
4
Board a confirmed safari boat for a water-based photographic outing. Look for elephants drinking or crossing, hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, and birds along the riverbanks. Water-level perspectives and reflections can provide different compositions from those available on a game drive.
5
Return to the agreed landing point and transfer back to the pickup location if included. The exact finish time depends on the departure schedule, river conditions, and the confirmed activity combination.
