Meet your guide at the confirmed lodge, camp or meeting point in the Sesriem area. Depart early to take advantage of cooler temperatures and favourable light. The exact departure time depends on the season, park access arrangements and the booked itinerary.

Travel through the Namib-Naukluft National Park towards the Sossusvlei area. Enjoy views of the changing desert landscape and learn about dune formation, desert ecology and the Tsauchab River system.

Where included and time permits, stop at Dune 45 for photographs or an optional walk on the dune. Climbing is physically demanding and should be attempted only when conditions and the guide's advice make it appropriate.

Continue to the designated 2x4 parking area. Access beyond this point depends on the current park rules and the vehicle and operator permissions. Guests without an eligible 4x4 or authorised guide arrangement must use the approved shuttle where required.

Walk across the desert terrain to Deadvlei's striking clay pan and ancient camelthorn trees. Your guide explains how the pan formed and why the trees remain preserved in the arid environment. Allow time for photographs, while staying on permitted routes and respecting the fragile landscape.

Explore the Sossusvlei area and surrounding dunes, subject to access, weather and the confirmed route. The guide identifies suitable viewpoints and walking opportunities according to the group's fitness and available time.

Return towards Sesriem. A Sesriem Canyon visit may be included if the booked itinerary allows enough time. The excursion concludes at the agreed drop-off point; meals and additional stops depend on the package selected.
